What to do if strong instant glue is not strong enough

1. Optimize Surface Preparation
Cleaning: Thoroughly remove oil and dust using alcohol, acetone, or a specialized cleaner.
Sanding: Lightly sand smooth surfaces (such as metal and plastic) to increase surface roughness.
Rust Removal/Degreasing: Metal surfaces require rust removal and degreasing. Plastic surfaces can be treated with plasma treatment or a primer.
2. Select the Suitable Glue
Consult the instructions to confirm whether the glue is suitable for the target material.
Switching to a Specialized Glue:
For low-surface-energy materials like PP and PE, use a modified hot-melt adhesive or a primer combined with instant glue 603.
For elastomers like rubber and silicone, use a silicone-specific glue or electronic hot-melt adhesive.
3. Control Glue Amount
Apply a Thin Layer: Apply a thin, even layer of glue to the bonding surface to avoid buildup.
Dot Coating: For small areas, use dot coating or line coating. 4. Adjust Curing Conditions
Temperature: Cure the bonded parts at 20-25°C. Curing time may be extended at lower temperatures.
Humidity: Some adhesives (such as cyanoacrylates) are sensitive to humidity. If humidity is low, spraying with a small amount of water mist may promote curing.
Pressure: Apply appropriate pressure after bonding (such as with a clamp) to ensure an even bondline.
5. Standardize Operating Procedures
Control the pot life: Complete bonding within the adhesive's open time (usually a few seconds to a few minutes).
Avoid premature testing: Wait until the adhesive is fully cured (usually 24 hours) before performing strength testing.
