P+R Silicone Bonding Agent
17 Sep 2026
The P+R silicone treatment agent is a surface-activating additive specifically developed for the P+R (plastic + silicone rubber) process. Its primary function is to enhance the surface activity of non-polar silicone rubber through modification, thereby overcoming the difficulty of directly bonding silicone to materials such as plastics and metals using standard adhesives; it is an essential chemical material in the manufacture of electronic components, such as mobile phone keypads.
Kanglibang CL-26AB-16 is an adhesive designed for bonding PPSU with platinum-cured silicone rubber or liquid silicone rubber.
CL-26AB-16 is a heat-curing adhesive primarily used to bond PPSU to silicone rubber (or liquid silicone) cured with platinum-based curing agents.
Instructions for using the P+R bonding agent:
1. During silicone molding, mold release agents sprayed on the mold surface or anti-rust oil on new molds can leave oily residues; therefore, the silicone rubber surface must be thoroughly cleaned with toluene to remove any oil.
2. If the silicone is not fully vulcanized, low-molecular-weight substances on the surface can impair subsequent bonding; a secondary vulcanization process (180°C for 45 minutes) should be used to ensure the silicone is fully cured.
3. If the plastic key surface is processed with spray-coated ink, overspray on the back can result in poor adhesion; the surface must be wiped with alcohol or acetone before bonding with the silicone.
4. If the back of the plastic key is processed via screen printing, select an appropriate adhesive (such as "460" silicone key adhesive) based on the specific reinforcing clear coat or UV-cured ink used, and conduct a test bond to verify adhesion strength.
5. Apply K770 primer (bonding agent) to the bonding surface of the silicone rubber and allow it to sit for 3 minutes.
6. Apply a small amount of instant adhesive (e.g., 603 adhesive) to the primed silicone surface, join it with the other substrate, and press the bonding surfaces together firmly. (Do not apply excessive adhesive, as this can compromise the bond quality).
7. The parts will bond together after a few minutes; maximum practical bond strength is achieved after 24 hours.
