How long does it take for UV adhesive to cure at room temperature?
10 Nov 2025
Epoxy acrylates cure relatively quickly, while polyurethanes cure more slowly.
First, the surfaces to be bonded must be free of oil and debris; any debris must be cleaned immediately. Then, apply the adhesive to the bonding surfaces, press firmly to ensure the adhesive evenly fills the surfaces and removes air bubbles. Under sunlight or at a distance of 10cm from a UV lamp, it cures and sets in 5-10 seconds. The complete curing time of UV adhesive varies depending on the power of the UV lamp and the distance between the UV lamp and the bonding surfaces. Under UV light with a wavelength of 200-400nm, the photo-enhancing adhesive will fully cure in a few minutes.
The difference between UV adhesive and other adhesives is that UV adhesive initially cures in 1-5 seconds under UV light and bonds completely in 20-30 seconds, achieving high strength immediately after irradiation, meeting the needs of automated production lines; second-generation acrylic structural adhesives initially cure in 1-10 seconds and reach full strength in 24 hours; room-temperature curing epoxy structural adhesives initially cure in 10-120 minutes and reach full strength in 7 hours.
In summary, the curing time depends on the specific application process. Proper application will result in a shorter curing time.
Below, we'd like to introduce a product: KL-16UV adhesive.
KL-16UV adhesive boasts advantages such as fast drying, ease of use, strong adhesion, and no VOC emissions. It is primarily used for bonding PET to PET, PET to ABS, PET to PC, and PET to acrylic.
