Single-component silicone is widely used in the market. After curing, it can meet the different needs of users. Silicone usually has functions such as bonding, fixing, sealing, and filling. When customers buy it, what performance requirements of silicone should they understand?
1. Protectiveness
Protectiveness generally refers to waterproofing, oil resistance, salt spray resistance, exhaust gas resistance in the air, etc. during the application of adhesives. Because the protectiveness of adhesives is not strong, they are eroded by these substances. The first thing that is destroyed is the adhesion between the adhesive and the substrate bonding surface, which eventually causes debonding and peeling. Therefore, protectiveness is also an important indicator for selecting high-quality silicone adhesives.
2. Temperature resistance
If the silicone has poor temperature resistance, the adhesive will fail in advance within the expected working time, resulting in abnormal product operation. Good temperature resistance is one of the conditions to ensure the quality of silicone products.
3. Weather resistance
In the same environment, silicones of different brands with better weather resistance will have a longer service life.
