How does unformed silicone stick to metal?

22 Sep 2025

Examples: Solid silicone adhesive for metal, CL-24S-2P silicone adhesive for stainless steel.
Surface Preparation: Mechanically sandblast or sandpaper the substrate, then degrease it, or chemically treat it with toluene or alcohol.
Application: Apply by brush, dip, or spray.
Drying: Dry at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or at a temperature below 180°C for 5-15 minutes.
Storage: Bonding should be completed as soon as possible after application, preferably within the same day. Storage may not exceed 5 days, provided contamination and exposure to high temperature and humidity are avoided.
Vulcanization: Primary vulcanization depends on the vulcanization conditions of the rubber compound. Secondary vulcanization should not exceed 250°C.

Examples: Liquid silicone adhesive to metal, CL-26AB-3 silicone adhesive to nickel-plated metal.
CL-26AB-3 silicone adhesive to nickel-plated metal bonding process:
1. Surface Treatment: Chemically treat the substrate with a solvent to remove oil and dust.
2. Gluing: Mix the two components, A and B, and apply by brush, dipping, spraying, or screen printing.
3. Drying: Bake at 150°C for 15 minutes.
4. Storage: Bonding should be done as soon as possible after gluing, preferably on the same day. Storage may not exceed three days to avoid contamination and exposure to high temperature and humidity.
5. Bonding: Bond the uncured silicone adhesive to the substrate by high-temperature die-casting or hot air vulcanization.
