Why LSR Silicone does not bond well with PA(Nylon) ?
Lots of silicone products like silicone utensils ,silicone baby products,silicone Intelligence watches, 3C products are made from the bond of LSR silicone with PA(Nylon). But bonding failure occurs between LSR Silicone with PA ,
PA shapes like Bee caves , it’s Moisture -Absorbent , So the long kept-away Nylon is hard to bond with lsr silicone . Even there is bubble in the finished silicone products . Below is the suggestion of how to process lsr silicone with Nylon Bonding .
Step One -Remove Moisture
Set the PA in the oven and bake dry to remove the moisture or expose the the PA (Nylon )in the sun.
Step Two -Cleaning
Clean the PA (Nylon) surface with solvents (Alcohol) to remove oil and dusts
Step Three- Load the adhesive
Apply the primer CL-24S-15(PA) through brushing ,dipping or spraying method on the ready PA.
Step Four - Baking
Bake the primer-coated PA for 15-20 minutes with temperature 110-130℃
Step Five-Bonding
Bond the unvulcanised silicone with hot air vulcanizaiton or high temperature compression moulding .
Attention :
During process of lsr silicone with Nylon bonding , silicone stick to mold issue occurs .as the primer is of general use except that it works for bonding silicone with PA , it also works for bonding silicone with metallics . So the mold had to be plated with nickel , (PTFE)Teflon,chromium in order to make the metal inmume to the bond .
As what’s taken granted , A lot of customer care if the primer is environmently-friend The silicone primer from KANGLIBANG had passed SGS , ROSH , REACH Certificates.
